Mistress & A Million Dollars

“I’ll be your mistress - for a million dollars.”

For years, model Briana Davenport fought temptation - in the form of a six-foot, blue-eyed seducer. Jarrod Hammond was her employer’s sworn enemy...  and, as such, off-limits to her… and her bed. Then her father needed a cool million to bail himself out of trouble, and Briana had no choice but to turn to the Australian businessman. But after one mind-blowing night as his millionaire mistress, how could Briana ever walk away?

about the authors

Being one of the authors for the Diamonds Down Under series is such an honour and a privilege. My book is the third in the series, though originally I was supposed to write the second book. It was only after the senior editor suggested changes to the line-up and to our proposed storylines that I ended up being assigned the third book, and with those changes a new plot was needed.

The first two stories were about the Blackstones – Kim in Book 1 and Ryan in Book 2 - but now a book from the Hammond side of the family was needed. And Jarrod Hammond was born. But what plot would I use? I had to find something different to the other storylines, yet fit in with the series.

Then one of the other authors asked if there was any storyline I was drawn to writing and I remembered I had always wanted to do an indecent proposal story. Right then it fell into place. The idea excited me and I could just see it unfolding in my mind. Thankfully the senior editor agreed.

Of course, I had to work out all the intrinsic details of my plot and how to make sure it fit in with the other 5 storylines. At that stage some of the others had major changes too, so it was difficult for all of us to make sure all the pieces fit. In the end, it was many months of discussion and more changes before any of us felt able to write our stories.

Looking back it was a tremendous effort by all concerned to get this series up and running. I’m proud of what we’ve done and if any television producers are reading this, I think it would make a perfect television mini-series.J
